Random # 1

The shoe that fits one person pinches another; there is no recipe for living that suits all cases. – Carl Jung

First of all, my apology for the randomness.

I came across this in Unilife diary this afternoon. The sentence caught my attention and I have absolutely no excuse to disagree with that.

It makes me think of Cinderella which makes up part of you and my childhood fairy tale. I still remember that Cinderella was one of the first fairy tales I heard about, and it was one of those cartoons that I will never get bored of watching.

Random # 2

Finished class, rushed to Woollies but didn’t end up with what I want. Increased my timtam stock instead.

Random # 3

One of the days that I managed to catch a bus at the bus stop almost immediately. It would be much better if I didn’t shop at Woolies, who knows if I could board the bus before 3 pm and get a 50% off on bus fare :P

Random # 4

The first time I cooked a not too salty and not too tasteless spinach for lunch, but it was overcooked :S

Random #5

The first time of me being so so so random at night.

This trip goes under MySA, in conjunction with International Kite Festival. But really, I didn’t join any kite festival activities, the only way I could feel the atmosphere of "kite festival” was seeing many patterned kites flying in the sky.IMG_1208

Briefly, the day started off with sandwich making, taking train to Glanville, a LONG walk to Semaphore beach, a bunch of activities and finally, a miserable journey back.

There are a few interesting, yet rare events worth pointing out:

  • It was International kite festival – different from what I had expected. I expect a huge crowd, busier traffic, more stalls and of course, noise!!! But at least, I saw colourful kites blending with the clear blue sky. Believe me, it was scenic! :D
  • It was really a hot day, and many got sunburn.
  • There was really few buses, and trains servicing the area. We missed the first bus back, not knowing that we were waiting at the wrong bus stop. “It’s ok, coz we had crepes with berries in a cafe nearby :D” An hour later, we were back to the bus stop and I miserably saw a bus drove past another street. Puzzled, we looked at the service route again and found out that we were waiting at the wrong bus stop. :S Off we ran to the train station, and luckily we were in time to catch the train, yeah!

If you are looking forward to serenity or a quiet day off, Semaphore Beach is suitable for you. I didn’t go near to the water but the sand was really soft that it fulfills the so called “white, sandy beach” title. The beach is rated ++ by me. :P

Last but not least, pictures tell story!

IMG_1220IMG_1222I don’t feel like spoiling this picture, light and kites~ IMG_1230 IMG_1264Took this minutes before I went back, there were more kites now!

Need NOT to rely on uni-net anymore!

I couldn’t believe that it’s almost the end of 4th week now. Since the beginning of the semester, I attended lectures blur-ly, and coming out of the lecture theatre blur-ly as well. I had two tests during the last two weeks and I… hope that they won’t turn out to be too bad. Anyway, there is one coming up the week after next – Dosage Form Design mid sem quiz and that, I have no comment currently.

Leaving me stunned most of the time, staring blankly at the complicated equations, looking at the tutorial questions and ended up sighing and finally putting it aside thinking, ahh, I don’t think I’m able to figure out what’s going on… that’s my answer to “what do you think of pharmacokinetics?”

I skipped the morning lecture on dosage form design for ADSL set up appointment. I took out some notes and tried hard to concentrate but I got distracted when I heard the sound of my door bell :D People from Telstra came, fixed everything and we are now connected!

What Adelaide offers…

Part 1: The journey

Flying with AirAsia and Virgin Blue throughout my journey back to Adelaide was a pleasurable one. There wasn’t any delay and we were able to catch all our connecting flights. Well, AirAsiaX delayed to be exact but it didn’t affect our next flight so yeah, it actually shorten our waiting time in Perth. Everything went on smoothly until Part 2.

Part 2: Accommodation

We had been searching high and low for a low price house in the suburb areas and everything just turned us down. Whether it’s the landlord himself or the agent, it’s just the other way round over here; ie they choose you, not you choose them. As a result, I had been a ‘nomad’ for more than a week! The experience was bad and I certainly will never want to go over this anymore.

Part 3: Struggling between uni and moving house

Class started before I could settle down therefore I spent the first week rather ‘hanging’ in the middle for there wasn’t a permanent accommodation yet. It bothered me quite a lot actually. I get most of my furniture from IKEA which means that another day was spent on setting up. It’s almost the end of week 2 and week 3 is coming. There is a test in week 3 and I haven’t got internet connection back in my new house :(

Part 4: A little entertainment in between

I watched a string quartet concert on Thursday. It sounded interesting to me in the beginning but I got bored towards the end. Due to the never ending chores I had previously, I miss out most of the events organised in conjunction with Adelaide Fringe Festival. I heard that it is a biannual event, I wonder if I will have the chance to join in the fun after two years.

*This post was supposed to be up last week but I was too lazy to post it up at the uni, that’s why it took such a long time…*
